A few weeks ago, me and my youngest son was able to treat ourselves a little getaway from our usual gala (tour). Of course only a local city and mall tour. This is a father and son getaway. Our feet led us to the very first branch in Scout Tuazon of one of the well known restaurant in the country that serves fried chicken. I’m sure you know the tagline “sarap to the bones,” - Max's Restaurant, established in 1945.

We were invited to one of its occasions, particularly Chickie Boy's birthday party. In case you don't have any idea who Chickie boy is, he is the feathery friend of every kid in every birthday occasions Max's Restaurant. Most precisely the mascot. Yes, their mascot Chickie celebrated its birthday party where bloggers were invited.
The program is intended for the kids, for mommies and for the daddies. Since my kid is with me, well, he was able to experience the birthday party that Max’s Restaurant offers. It was Chickie Boy’s World of Fun, there were games and activities that my son really enjoyed, like the “Make and Get Crowned" where he himself designed his own crown, of course with the help of daddy. The “Visit the Princess Palace” where Gelo liked the Princess very much and he keep on taking pictures with her. I think most of the photos that we have are with the princess. The “Dart the Balloon", “Shoot the Ball”, and “Hit the Blocks” are some of the activities where Gelo won some prizes.
The party is filled with dances, clowns and fun. It was one of our most fun, exciting and enjoying day together.

"Daddy can I have a birthday like that," asked by my little one. I'm sure he asked because he wanted to have that princess at his birthday party. Witty little one.

 The wet season has already started but it seems that the scorching heat tail still lingers around causing a sweaty feeling and a need to chill down that palate. Tien Ma's have something for us even though it is already the rainy season, their sweet chills - the Shave Ice. It is one of their latest sweet offerings.

Well just right before the heavy rains keeps pouring, together with my wife, we decided to take a trip to one of Tien Ma's Branch in Retiro and taste it for ourselves, the sweet truth about this new offering of Tien Ma's.



The three flavors got its different features and tastes. The Mango Tango is made up of sliced mangoes, nata de coco and of course the shaved ice with some sweets. The flavor and the tastes really compliments the whole Mango Tango.

The Strawberry Banana Senstation, a mixed of sliced bananas with the strawberry syrup and the shaved ice. A good combination to drool with. I think kids will definitely love this flavor.

The Chocolate Heaven, chocolate bits, coffee jelly and choco syrup gives this dessert a thumbs up for the chocolate lovers.

All the three desserts wouldn't be great without the shaved ice that is perfectly smooth, refined and greatly melts in your mouth. This dessert's single serving is good for 2 to 3 person which is only Php230.00

Two or more is already a big number and since our family is just in a mid size, having some few platters is great for our dinner. Most of the time if want to just enjoy eating without the staple food, which is rice, we always manage to find the comfort of pasta. We love pasta and I think our kids get it from me. My wife, who loves to cook, would always find time to prepare pasta dishes but of course there are times that she just wanted to rest. So, there's always a restaurant to turn to. What are your reasons why you prefer to stay at home rather than have your time strolling the malls and admiring other places? I'm sure there are plenty but there are few things that I know the reason why. Here are some of that reasons:

• It's too hot to go out.
• It's much comfortable to stay at home.
• Saving money for a much more needed things. 

Those are good reasons but for me it's a much more valid reason. I have a bedridden father who's now unable to make his way to any of the good places to dine and visit. And my mother has to take care of him. So as a way of getting them a treat on a fine weekend I ordered something for them. This is not your usual phone call order and express delivery but it is an online ordering.
Tien Ma's, one of our new found restaurant that we enjoyed dining at, got a new feature with their services. An Online Ordering system where you can order online and clearly see what you want to for lunch or dinner. Unlike the usual phone call ordering. So whatever you're craving for, you get to have it. Our situation, with my bedridden father, is not a hindrance for us to enjoy a weekend of Taiwanese cuisine because it is just one click away.
How do you order? Well, it's fast and simple but before that make sure you have your very reliable internet connection. Ours is not as reliable is it is, so the supposedly minutes of online ordering went somewhat an hour or more. Don't get disappointed with our experience okay. Here's a short process that we manage to document but first see the process of a supposedly fast online ordering with a reliable internet connection.

• Log on to their website www.tienmas.com and make sure to register first to avoid the hassle of registering later on. 

• Go to their Menu on the upper right part of the website where you can find the three lines. Click the Order Now where you will see the Regular Items, Little Tien's Lunch Box, and the Delivery Area. Yes they only got some few areas to cater right now but of course watch out for some expansion. 

• If you're getting the Regular Items click on it and you'll be directed to their menu of your favorite Taiwanese cuisines with photos and prices. 

•  Once decided click on the photo and you'll be ask for the Quantity, Send Order, Show Cart and Order More. Each item you select will be added to the cart. 

•  If you're done with your orders you'll be directed to you cart section where your total bill is shown, they'll asked for the Delivery/Shipping Address and Payment Method. Note that below Php1,000.00 entails delivery charge of Php30.00. 

• Don't forget to tick the Terms and Conditions to continue with the process.  

• Then it will tell that your order is now complete and showing you the amount you'll have to pay if you tick the option of Cash On Delivery. 

•  Then you wait for the Delivery Personnel to arrive.

I have heard, read and known Book and Borders Cafe from wifey of Mommy's MAG Life since the opening of its very first branch at Tomas Morate, Quezon City and I can say that it is one of the places that most book lovers would definitely a place to hang out. What's interesting with this new found sweet haven is that they got unusual delights like crepes, sweets, cakes, sandwiches and other treats for a hungry tummy.

What's the most favorite part of every meal? Well, for us there are two, one is the main course with enticing dishes and the other one is the dessert with so much flavorful sweets. And we're just lucky that rainy days isn't always about staying inside the house because thank you to Recipes that we were able to catch up with their tasty dishes on rain-pouring day.
