COMCO Mundo Appoints Managing Directors in SE Asia & MEA Markets

In its eighth year of operation, COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises, a prominent communications group known for its global accolades, is reaffirming its dominance by appointing new Managing Directors for its ventures in COMCO Southeast Asia and the Middle East & Africa regions. Taking the helm are Joyce Yu for COMCO Southeast Asia, Rachel Syfargo for TARO AOX Inc., and Tricia Cusi-Jimenea for COMCO Middle East & Africa.

Reinforcing Leadership
A seasoned PR practitioner, COMCO SEA’s newest Managing Director Joyce Yu has close to two decades of solid experience in Public Relations, Advertising, Events and Activation, and Branding and Brand Communications. Part of her new role is to reinforce the group's flagship brand New PR and Smart Social and grow COMCO’s Experience+ division, the Agency’s service dedicated to Events, Advertising, Branding, and Special Media Executions.

One of COMCO’s senior partners, pioneers and communications experts, Rachel Syfargo will now lead as Managing Director for TARO AOX Inc., the group’s specialist agency that offers Digital Max for Digital, Social and Emerging Platforms, Technologies and Innovations; ICOM for Integrated Communications and Digital PR; and Story Lab for Communications Audit, Research and Planning as well as Editorial and Publication Services. Rachel’s leadership in the practice encompasses more than two decades of experience in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Branding and Communications Research.

With their excellent performance and unwavering dedication, COMCO Southeast Asia’s Hendrich Namoca and COMCO Mundo’s Ronette Tibay as well as TARO AOX Inc’s Joana de Guzman and Chloe Manalac are all promoted to Senior Associates. SEA Wave & Spice’s Multimedia Arts Associate Nicole Bamba is now the company’s newest regularized employee. ‘Your Song of Excellence 2023 Product Exhibit & B2B Day Event a Success for Taiwan Excellence Awarded Brands'

The third season of Your Song of Excellence 2023 concluded with a spectacular Grand Finals weekend on November 17 and 18, 2023, at Ayala Malls Market! Market! in Taguig.

Top Brands Share Their E-Commerce Success on Shopee

The Philippines is the fastest-growing market in the SEA region, with an overall internet economy likely to reach $40 billion in value by 2025 — and e-commerce greatly contributes to this significant surge.[ e-Conomy SEA 2021] More consumers now heavily rely on online platforms like Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, for their needs. With this, brands shifted online to better connect with their customers and tap into new and unreached markets. Five brands shared how they took advantage of Shopee’s various programs and enhanced marketing solutions to remain top-of-mind while establishing themselves as a strong player in the digital space.

1.Johnson & Johnson wins big during big sales

Johnson & Johnson grew its brand through Shopee’s innovative solutions and services. The recently concluded 11.11 Big Christmas Sale campaign was their most successful one to date with multiple basket-building strategies, such as co-sponsored vouchers, aimed at driving conversion. 3.Crocs won customers with curated pages during campaigns

In the recent 11.11 Big Christmas Sale, the brand achieved a 65x uplift in orders compared to the usual, alongside Shopee’s marketing solutions such as Flash Deals and Rush Hour sales. John Darryl Bonifacio, E-Commerce Manager at Crocs, said, “At Crocs, we think of people first at every step and during the pandemic, safety was every Filipino’s priority. Retail store closures were inevitable with the lockdown measures but Shopee has allowed us to reach customers across the country.”

4.SM Online boosted sales after first-ever Super Brand Day

In 2021, SM attained many e-commerce milestones through Shopee, including a successful first-ever Super Brand Day that helped increase sales, and an all-time spike in orders during the 11.11 Big Christmas Sale. In the recent 7.7 Mid-Year Sale and 8.8 Mega Flash Sale campaigns, The SM Store’s participation in the TV Flash segment resulted in a significant increase of their 2021 orders and GMV. Nicole Villanueva, AVP of SM Online, said, “This year has been about how to sustain the massive growth of online from 2020. Shopee has provided The SM Store prime avenues on which we can serve our customer’s essential and non-essential needs.”

5.NIVEA tapped into a new target market through new initiatives

Through weekly in-app visibility and pushes highlighting their best-sellers, NIVEA achieved tremendous growth with Shopee. The brand regularly joined campaigns such as Shopee Beauty and activated their own Brand Days, monthly Grand Launches, and Shopee Live during new product launches. Kitz Literal, E-Commerce Sales Manager at NIVEA, said, “We are happy to share that we achieved record-breaking sales during this year’s 11.11 Big Christmas Sale. Together with our partners in Shopee, we were able to generate a sales uplift of 50x and a traffic uplift of 8x. Another win for NIVEA is securing the third spot in the Personal Care Category last 12.12. Following this momentum, we are looking into finishing this year strong.”

Blogapalooza 2013, A Successful Event That Connects Bloggers To Businesses

The Blogapalooza's 2nd successful event happened last November 16, 2013.  It was a Saturday filled with learning and of course connections.   The event run from 11 AM up until 9 PM at the Function Room 1 of SMX Aura, Taguig City.

This is one of the best events that connects bloggers to businesses and vice versa.  Its aim is to make an awesome event not only for the bloggers but also for the businesses as well because aside from the connections that happened there were also speakers present during the event.  They shared most of their insights, personal learning and experiences about blogging and of hitting that spot of becoming a viral sensation.  Not the bad virus that lurks around in the huh.  Some of these known online celebrities and personalities are Mikey Bustos and Bogart the Explorer.  Of course there are also other known personalities like the Boys Night Out and ever sexy Karen Bordador.

Astroplus Blog-Connect, Connecting Bloggers & Brands

Few weeks ago Astroplus together with Mike Soon of MixofEverything and Azrael Coladilla of Asrael'sMerryland collaborated to showcase and introduce what's new and what's upcoming from different brands.

It was a fine afternoon and I think rain had stopped for some time to make way for the bloggers to attend this overwhelming and brand-flooded event. This is their second year of bringing brands upclose to bloggers. The first one was the Bloggers' Blow Out which was done in one of thei branch at Greenbelt and for this year it's themed as “Astroplus Blog-Connect” and it is held at their Astroplus branch at the Podium. Astroplus wanted to let bloggers experience more of the brands that they have. The event was divided into two blocks, one for the music and movie and the other one is for the gadgets. So for those who love music and movies they attended the first block, then for the bloggers who like and knows much more about gadgets go for the second block which is the gadgets block. Gladly, I was there during the first event and it was a huge one, with different brands and as I recall it it was raining with giveaways that day. Did get a lot of good stuff!
