LMFAO RELEASES “SORRY FOR PARTY ROCKING” CD+DVD TOUR EDITION

4/10/2012 12:35:00 PM

LMFAO, together with the Party Rock Crew, are ready to take their party rock anthems on the road as they conquer Manila this April 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. But before all that happens, the group comes out with a special tour edition of their album “Sorry For Party Rocking” this month.

The album, which has reached Platinum in the Philippines, has produced two #1 singles, “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It,” while the third single “Sorry For Party Rocking” is climbing the Top 40 radio charts. The Tour Edition features a DVD of music videos of the said hit singles plus “Champagne Showers,” “I’m In Miami Trick” and “Shots”.

“Sorry for party rocking is a party person’s excuse for having fun,” explains Redfoo, LMFAO’s member known for his gravity-defying afro. “It’s the excuse you give when someone complains,” he continues. “Let’s say your parents say ‘stop shuffling upstairs you’re waking me up!’ You can now just say ‘Sorry for party rocking, Mom…sorry for having fun.’”

Redfoo’s nephew, Sky Blu, echoes the sentiment, minus the apology. “We rock the party and lead by example,” says LMFAO’s lyrical wordsmith. LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” has surpassed 10 million units in total sales worldwide! “Party Rock Anthem” was the #2 top selling song of 2011 on iTunes in the U.S. behind Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” and it was the #1 selling song on iTunes in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. The video has seen over 360 million views on VEVO. LMFAO’s music has been licensed by movie and television shows, including 20th Century Fox’s holiday hit “Chipwrecked,” Fox’s TV hit “Glee” and the top charting game “Just Dance 3.” “Sorry For Party Rocking” Tour Edition is now out in CDs at leading record stores and online via www.MyMusicStore.com.ph under MCA Music. To download LMFAO’s music on your cellphone, text LMFAO to 3456. Get your tickets now at Ticketnet branches or call 911-5555 for the party rock event of the year “LMFAO Live In Manila” this April 11 at 8pm, presented by Dayly Entertainment.

In Depth Thoughts About The Lorax

4/10/2012 11:53:00 AM

Why would Dr. Seuss write something about the environment and why have it in less comprehensive audience? As for my understanding during Dr. Seuss time it is very hard to go up against with big names and big companies. People standing up to their believes are being suppressed by powerful tyrants. They would not listen to any thoughts about the environment and the effects of what they are doing. Perhaps that's one of the reason why Dr. Seuss made it into a children's book. Also I think he got the idea that if you want to change the world start with the kids and children's books are one of the most powerful influencer. Kids read books whether it is in school or at home.

Not really sure if he had read Jose Rizal's writings but the idea of teaching the young ones the importance of the environment and letting them picture what will happen is somewhat similar to Jose Rizal's famous quote “the youth of today is the hope of tomorrow” (not exactly as it is but the thought is close enough).

The story of The Lorax does not only talks about the environment but it does show ideas of the economy as well and how filthy rich people takes advantage of different situation. In other words greediness comes in, moral issue is much more likely. Being opportunistic is not bad but grabbing the opportunity in the expense of others is not a good call of success.

Remember the story of a young girl who stands and talks about the environment in front of the representatives in the United Nations (not sure if it is a conference or a summit)conference? Yes, she made the whole world listen to what she have said and perhaps that was the start of the change. Just like the quote in Dr. Seuss The Lorax “unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.” It is indeed that unless there's one person that will make a small act, not only for the environment but also for the next generation to come, things will for sure change and it's for the better.

As with his last mini-album, Jay Park again holds the reins as album producer. Writing over 80% of the songs, he cements his status as a world-class singer-songwriter. The album’s title track “Know Your Name” is an addictive blend of hip-hop, pop and Euro dance, taking the listener on a hypnotic journey. And with Jay Park’s trademark hard-hitting lyrics and catchy chorus, “Know Your Name” is sure to be 2012’s biggest hit.

Totaling 15 tracks, this album is sure to catch the eyes and ears of listeners. With tracks ranging from R&B to dance, electronic hip-hop to Euro dance, listeners will hear sounds they’ve never heard before and meet a brand new Jay Park.

Famed U.S. producer Rob Knox, who previously worked with artists such as Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Chris Brown and Britney Spears, lends his talented hand, elevating the album to another level. Add to those collaborations with Dynamic Duo, dok2 and The Quiett, among others, and this makes for one complete album fans will not want to miss.

Kenny Rogers Hits The Big Three

4/04/2012 04:27:00 PM

Healthy foods are one of Kenny Rogers Roasters best offering.  Since most people nowadays are cutting down with their food intake and more on the healthy foods, Kenny Rogers  has another treat for their patronizers.  Kenny's serving their newest addition, the Saucy Roast Chicken with three new sauces to choose, savor and crave for.

The newest Saucy Roast Chicken was introduced and served during the Kenny Rogers Roaster's 3rd Bloggers Night Event held at the Kenny Rogers Roasters Store in SM Megamall.

Each sauce compliments the Saucy Roast Chicken differently. Infused with the flavors of pepper and fragrant garlic, the new chicken flavor is best enjoyed with any of the three sauces that could make dining an immeasurably enjoyable experience. For that extra bite, Cracked Peppercorn Sauce - flavorful gravy dotted with cracked black pepper – is perfect; while diners who dig the taste of the distinct sweetness of barbecue, would choose Sweet BBQ Sauce in a wink. It would be a ‘sin’ not to try Creamy Mushroom Sauce – creamy savory gravy peppered with mushroom bits.

Among the three, the Cracked Peppercorn Sauce is my favorite gravy taste with a kick of cracked black pepper.  With the sauce choices you can only avail one sauce of your choice per order and if you want to taste the other sauces you'll have to pay for it.  For me, I definitely would not advice for a mix.  They don't jive very much.

Before the chicken was served they first introduced us their three flavorful side dishes, the Mediterranean Pasta, Eggplant Pomodoro and Mashed Sweet Potato.  They say good luck comes in 3s so they decided to make this a trifecta offer.  The Mediterranean Pasta is a light but flavorful medley of premium pasta, roasted eggplant, olives, tomatoes, and parmesan cheese tossed in Kenny's very own tomato vinaigrette; the Eggplant Pomodoro is a fire-roasted eggplant baked with chunky, Italian-style tomato sauce, topped with parmesan cheese; and Mashed Sweet Potato is a nutritional side with a sweet, buttery, and slightly creamy taste and aroma.

Here's what Ms. Meggie Bolinao-Jose, Kenny Rogers Roasters' Marketing Director has to say, "These delightful chicken and sauce matches are our delightful gifts to foodies.  It's a new set of pleasant surprises for our guest. There is no eaier way to put it.  It's definitely another way of enjoying the unique Kenny experience."

The trifecta side dish and the Saucy Roast Chicken are just the perfect food to have.

Saucy Roast Chicken is available with Solo Plates, Group Meals, Healthy Plates and Combo Meals, and is available for dine-in, take out and delivery. This uniquely Kenny Rogers product will be available in all its restaurants until June 30, 2012 so visit your favorite branch today.

Call 555-9000 for Kenny’s deliciously healthy delivery. For more details on Kenny Rogers mouthwatering food choices, log on to www.kennys.com.ph.

World-class acts discovered at Kanta Pilipinas SM North EDSA Auditions

4/02/2012 09:23:00 PM
The biggest and newest singing reality show of TV5, Kanta Pilipinas held auditions at SM North EDSA last March 30. Over 1500 registrants lined up to get a chance to be part of the most anticipated show featuring the theme song sung by the country's world-renowned Ms. Lea Salonga.

The competition heats up with more head-turning voices and stories at SM North EDSA with hopefuls coming from Zamboanga, Mindoro, Tagaytay, Pampanga, Isabela Province and Marinduque. Pre-screening held at the parking lot trimmed the list to over 350 hopefuls to control the mob wanting to get in and perform on stage. Escalating more gossips and more people talking about the show, the on-lookers and mall-goers caused major traffic as hopefuls get their shot being judged by Inspirational Diva Judge Ms. Jamie Rivera, legendary music icon composer and arranger Mr. Vehnee Saturno and renowned talent manager Ms. Maristel Sempedro.

Some who were champions in other networks and talent shows also joined in the experience and heard "Dito ka na Kapatid! Ang galing mo!" from the judges while the others were short of preparation and practice. An Eric Benet, an Alicia Keys and more remarkable talents rendered their best act and got loud applause from the audience but not all the contestants got in the final list. A Fil-am born with one ear sang to his hearts content and impressed the judges' on his struggle to adjust in the Philippine culture. Some trio and duo also performed with complete costumes to wow the judges but not all the groups received the approval for the final list.

TV5'sKanta Pilipinas breaks ground as it changes the Philippine culture of singing contests not just looking for "Birit Queens/Kings". Eyeing more unique voices and real talents, the judges were very distinct at comments on each contestant on stage. A Cercado sister joined without her siblings proving her sisters wrong about singing contests and performed without the usual technique the family had assimilated. Will she make it to the final list? Some got all three Yes' and some were just unfortunate enough to get the vote of the three judges. The choice of songs, the versions and the unique tunes were prominent at SM North EDSA. At the end of the second day call-back auditions, only 23 got in the final list to compete with the other contestants from other regions.

The search continues as it brings Kanta Pilipinas final on-ground audition in SM City Batangas on April 20, 2012. Who will move the judges next? Find out by liking the Kanta Pilipinas Facebook Fan Page at http://www.facebook.com/KantaPilipinas and follow us on Twitter @Kanta_Pilipinas #kantapilipinas. You can also view the auditions and performances on the official Kanta Pilipinas YouTube Channel. For online auditions, please submit your video URL at www.kantapilipinas.com. What does it take to make the nation sing? Join Kanta Pilipinas and promote the Filipino talent worldwide!

Pop-rock trio HANSON re-visits the Philippines with New Album Shout it Out!

3/31/2012 12:45:00 PM
Image from bestweekever.tv
Does any of you remembers the MMMBop days?  Well, I definitely remember that time.  It was a craze!  Remembering that makes me realized how I've grown already and so are they.  It was really that long and I wonder what would be their music now.

Last week I get an invite with the presscon of the Hanson and because of unforeseen schedule I just let my correspondence cover the said event.  Here's the rest of the story...

To most of the world, Hanson were three little boys who sang infectious and catchy songs like “I Will Come to You,” “Penny and Me” and “Where’s the Love.” Fifteen years after hearing their ubiquitous "MMMBop" here, there, and everywhere—the boys are back to reward loyal Pinoy fans with some of their greatest pop-rock anthems.

In support of their highly-anticipated new studio record released by Polyeast Records, “Shout It Out,” Dayly Entertainment and Fox International Channels stage the Hanson Shout It Out Tour 2012 on March 30, 2012 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and March 31, 2012 at Waterfront Hotel Cebu. PolyEast Records’ Robin Nievera will serve as the front act for the Metro Manila gig. Nievera has recently launched his debut album “Overwait” under PolyEast Records preceded by his first single “in 3’s.”

Hanson brothers Isaac, Taylor, and Zac, --the pop-rock boy band from Tulsa, Oklahoma that took the radio by storm in 1997-- are back with a force to be reckoned with. Experience a non-stop fun and dancing and the chance to bring back a phenomenon with one of the purest pop hitmakers of the last two decades.

Releasing their most ambitious album to date which reflects the music that Hanson listened to growing up-- 60's soul and 70's songwriters-- Shout it Out is now available in stores under by PolyEast Records. The new album, which debuted at #2 on the US Billboard Independent charts, has fuelled the continued passion of fans around the world; led by the infectious soul-inspired single “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’” and the smash follow-up “Give A Little.” The album highlights music legends, guest bass player Bob Babbit of Motown fame, and horn arranger Jerry Hey, best known for his work with Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones and Earth Wind and Fire.

The three-time Grammy-nominated band has also been enjoying a massive resurgence with the first single’s video which pays homage to a scene from the classic movie "Blues Brothers" and features a guest appearance by "Wird Al" Yankovich. The 12-track set will mark the band's third release on its own 3CG Records label (including 2004's Underneath and 2007's The Walk) and distributed by PolyEast Records here in the Philippines. Fans can now buy the album at all major record outlets or download the songs at www.mymusicstore.com.ph

Drawing on the classic sounds of R&B, soul and blues albums they listened to growing up, Shout it Out is a breezy, sun-kissed collection of 12 hook-heavy, brass-indebted rock songs. The album includes the opener "Waiting For This," the groove-based "Kiss Me When You Come Home"; gospel- influenced "Carry You There"; leaning towards the easy-listening type of "And I Waited"; catchy and distinctive guitar riff of "Give a Little"; big band-esque sound "Make it Out Alive"; piano-driven ballad "Use Me Up"; the mid-tempo leanings of "These Walls" and "Voice in the Chorus"; and the vocal-driven album closer "Me, Myself and I."

Billboard said that Shout It Out represents some of the band’s “most soulful work ever committed to record”, while Salon hailed that the new single “may be their finest moment yet”, and Entertainment Weekly praised “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’” as “a delicious, catchy slice of popsoul.”

PolyEast Records will also release Hanson’s “THE BEST OF 5” CD+DVD – a collection of Hanson’s live performances of their singles, released over the last 13 years. This exceptional concert series invites the millions of Hanson’s fans to re-live more than a decade of the band’s music and their renowned dynamic live shows, and gives an unparalleled look at why Hanson have stood the test of time.

Clarke Isaac (31 y.o.), Jordan Taylor (29 y.o.), and Zac Walker (26 y.o.) have spanned many different genres, including rock, blues, folk, and pop. They are most noted for their Grammy-nominated 1997 monster hit, “MMMBop” and have sold over 16 million albums. Their 1997 album “Middle of Nowhere” was met with critical acclaim and went on to achieve multi-platinum status and led the band being the youngest-ever nominated songwriters.

Over more than 15 years since their debut major release, the band has earned praises for their songwriting, musicianship and dynamic live performances with New York‘s Village Voice calling them the "Finest Straight Up Rock Band In America."

Well the band did have their concert here in Manila and in Cebu it's just too bad that I wasn't able to watch the Hanson Shout It Out Tour 2012 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last March 30, 2012 which was presented by Dayly Entertainment.

The event was presented by Dayly Entertainment and Fox International Channels. Special thanks to Gold’s Gym and Metro Cuisine.

Kanta Pilipinas Audition: The Discerning Exceptional Performances from Iloilo

3/29/2012 11:30:00 AM

Photobucket

TV5's Kanta Pilipinas brought the Filipino pride, musical tourism set to promote the country's local talents in the City of Love, Iloilo last March 23-24, 2012. If it was so easy for the contestants in other regional audition venues to come to the stage and bring the house down with their confidence, the Ilonggos were so nitpicky and conservative supporting the hopefuls who had more talent than stories.

This time, the country's considered RnB Siren Ms. Arnee Hidalgo joined our panel of judges, Cornerstone Talent Management Head, Mr. Erickson Raymundo and award-winning cross genre composer, arranger and producer Mr. Jimmy Antiporda selecting the country's top local performers in SM City Iloilo.

Photobucket

The songs took over the stories with more outstanding performances of Ilonggos on the stage. One of the most unforgettable hopeful was a young teenager who sang a Jovit Baldivino's "Too Much Love Will Kill You' dedicating the song to his girlfriend who died of leukemia. Another hopeful from Boracay composed his own songs and a product of broken family who longs for his father's love with his songs. The inspiring stories that created more color and passion to the song wowed the judges in Iloilo.

From among the few registrants, almost half were called back the following day and the final list from Ilonggo were 16 lucky hopefuls who will vie their chances in Manila soon. Were the stories more powerful than the songs?

We have too much to look forward with TV5's Kanta Pilipinas as more performances will unfold in the upcoming auditions set on March 30 at SM City North EDSA and April 20 in SM City Batangas.

The excitement continues with the country's biggest and newest singing talent search that's truly Filipino, Kanta Pilipinas, soon to be airing on TV5! Let the song uplift the nation with Kanta Pilipinas! We all believe that Filipinos are the best singers in the world! Tara na! Kanta mo, Kwento mo, Kapatid #Kanta_Pilipinas!
