Perhaps today's generation don't have any idea what happened during the World War II. Maybe or maybe not, but history books tells it already, what transpired on that very event and what happened to thousands of soldiers of World War II. To commemorate the unsung heroes of WWII, the Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB), with its event set to laud these veterans. A series of events will be held in honor of the war veterans as the the Bataan Death March commemorate its 75th Anniversary.

There will be series of events to happen on that commemoration event. The 4th installment of the marathon Bataan Freedom Run and the new event which is for running and biking enthusiasts dubbed as the Mariveles-SanFernando-Capas Freedom Trail.

The Bataan Freedom Run will happen on April 2, which will feature a 42-kilometer full marathon, a 21-kilometer half-marathon as well as 10-kilometers, 5-kilometers, and 1-kilometer courses for running aficionados, kids, and pets. As in the previous years, the BFR follows the route of the Bataan Death March and will start at Kilometer Zero in Mariveles, Bataan. So, for those who will be joining this will have to condition their bodies.

The other event, which is the Freedom Trail is ought to feature a punishing 160-kilometer run with individual and team relay categories for marathoners as well as similar-distance for the bike run. The new event will be held from April 10-11 and will cover the Death March route from Mariveles, Bataan to Capas, Tarlac.
"Once again, Philippine Veterans Bank, together with our partners, is putting a segment of our nation's history into the forefront of our national consciousness with the Bataan Freedom Run and the Freedom Trail," said PVB Chairman Dr. Roberto F. de Ocampo, OBE. "These events are not only challenging physically but also mentally to the runners and bikers but they are doing this to honor the World War II veterans who endured and made the ultimate sacrifice during the Death March seventy-five years ago."

Bataan Death March's 75th Anniversary will not only be celebrated in the Philippines but also worldwide and the two events are PVB's contribution to the worldwide remembrance of this infamous part of the WWII history.

The honoring of the WWII veterans started since 2014 which was led by the Philippine Veterans Bank together with its partners, the Provincial Government of Bataan and also the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) with their event Bataan Freedom Run. From the covered court in sports complex down to the very streets of the neighborhood, you can definitely see people playing basketball from all ages. I think basketball is basketball and what makes it more interesting is that there are great players that made their names and a mark on its history. Perhaps not only the players but also the established names of the organization like the NBA and WNBA, of which that brings the Jr NBA and Jr WNBA locally.

5:53:00 AM

Triathlon is an adrenaline-pumping activity that combines swimming, cycling and running in one event. It’s a popular sport in the Philippines, thanks in large part to celebrity triathletes who not only promote the sport to the general public but also make it look easy and fun to do. In reality, however, first-time triathletes need 3 to 6 months of preparation to finish the race without injury or burnout.

6:16:00 AM

This will be a talk of the century in the boxing world as this "Mayweather and Pacquiao fight" is consider and dubbed as the “fight of the century”. Many of people who wouldn't want to miss the fight of the century get their seats reserved already and really did take their time and money just to watch this fight. For Pacquiao, Pinoys all over the world have already shown their support through different things. For Kwento Ni Toto, we've tried to watch most of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s fight and we have been following it ever since, we've watched and cheered on previous fights so we will be doing the same again for this fight. It is our way of showing our support for the Pambansang Kamao.

#GoPacman
#BeatTheMayweather

As to what most boxing analyst and enthusiasts predicts, Mayweather got the edge and advantage on this fight because of this ranking and standing and his height and reach. But of course there are things that are much greater than statistics and numbers that makes a man do impossible things and hat’s the courage, heart and determination, Manny Pacquiao got these qualities that makes him more unpredictable. So for our own and personal fearless prediction for this fight of the century we’re predicting for Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao to have Mayweather knocked out on the 7th round.

So we will waiting for the fight and will be cheering for Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao!

If you’re planning to get instant update with what’s happening with Mayweather-Pacquiao fight you can watch out for our tweets @YashirosJournal or get to see screenshots of the fight on Instagram @yashirokuru.

KMD Challenge Copenhagen

1:00:00 PM

Press Release
Last year's top-4 in the mens' race will once again be on the startline to fight for the win at KMD Challenge Copenhagen - the biggest iron distance race in Northern Europe and second largest in the Challenge Family.

KMD Challenge Copenhagen has developed into the biggest annual sports event in Denmark and one of the biggest iron distance events in the World. The 2,000 athletes, the over 150,000 spectators and the beautiful course in the heart of a major European capital make this a giant event.

Almost sold out for iron distance event - triathlon party 3rd year in a row KMD Challenge Copenhagen only has a few slots left this year and 2,000 athletes will start the race from the lagune with a 3,8 km swim at Amager Beach Park, head through Copenhagen and north at open roads and rolling hills on the two looped 180 km bike course before heading out on the marathon course by the Copenhagen habour front where 150,000 spectators will create a true triathlon party.

KMD Challenge Copenhagen has developed into the biggest annual sports event in Denmark and one of the biggest iron distance events in the World. The 2,000 athletes, the over 150,000 spectators and the beautiful course in the heart of a major European capital makes this a giant event.

"Iron distance triathlon is very special and has an energy and a soul like no other sports. The combination of some of the fittest athletes in the World competing alongside 'ordinary' people makes iron distance triathlon a tale of big performances and personal victories and is a place for the big emotions and life changing experiences. When all the emotions, the suffering, the tears and the personal fights are unveiled at the finish line is a unique place to be and magic appears again and again," Thomas Veje Olsen says.

Fast, Danish runners wants to top the podium The men's race have top-4 from last year back fighting it out for the win in the Copenhagen streets. Only two minutes separated all four men last year but is was Aussie Tim Berkel who snathed his second consecutive win only 35 seconds in front of Dane Jimmy Johnsen. The two had battled out a nerve wrecking final run shoulder to shoulder, testing each others limits late in the run before Berkel broke away on the final few kilometers to take the win. Jimmy Johnsen was second and took home the Danish Championship title while Croat Dejan Patrcevic took 3rd just in front of the fast runner, Mads Vittrup-Pedersen who clocked a race best marathon of 2:38:59.

The Danish favorites is once again Johnsen and Vittrup-Pedersen with Berkel and Patrcevic are among the international favorites along with the runner up from 2010 Keegan Williams and Joseph Spindler. Can Berkel three peat or will on of the Danes finally be able to take top honor in the biggest race in Denmark? Both Johnsen and Vittrup-Pedersen are fast on the bike and can run the marathon in the low and mid 2:40'ies. With Vittrup-Pedersen's 2:38:59 is a course record Johnsen managed a 2:44:01 last year.

In the women's race two-time champ Rebekah Keat will not defend her title. The pre race favorites must be: Diana Riesler and Edith Niederfriniger.

The race climaxes in front of the Danish Parliament Building at around 3pm Sunday August 12.

Fun Triathlons are very popular The 'Fun Triathlon' KMD 4:18:4 has been organized since 2010 for those who wanted to try out a short distance and it was an immediate success. This year more than 3.000 will try the sport of triathlon in KMD 4:18:4 in the days leading up to the iron distance race.

"Danes have really embraced the sport of triathlon the last three years. Last year 2,000 Danes tried triathlon in KMD 4:18:4 and we expect 3,000 this year. A 50 % increase in participants really show how popular triathlon has become and with 5,000 athletes competing in the triathlon events this setup is one of the biggest in the World," Race Director Thomas Veje Olsen says.

Triathlon in Denmark this August: - August 12th: Iron distance race KMD Challenge Copenhagen (3,8 km swim, 180 km bike and 42,2 km run). - August 9th and 10th: 'Fun Triathlon KMD 4:18:4 (400 meter swim, 18 km bike and 4 km run).

Teen Azkals, Sustaining The Future of Philippine Football

9:12:00 AM

Recently, the fame and prestige of James and Phil Younghusband has grown very much in just a short span of time and same with the sudden uplift of interest of young blooded sports-minded kids into football.  It has truly become a sensation.  I'm not well versed with the names of the players but I know football since I was a kid and as far as I know the game kickball rooted from the football.  One more thing, when I was a kid and until I was a teenager I only watched their games on television.

Since the Philippine football team are becoming well known with their winnings, the team manager Mr. Alvin Caranza U17-19 aims to have a new breed of Teen Azkals that starts with good foundation that's why they are going to have the upcoming Teen Azkals National Football Selection which will be held in two locations, one in UP Diliman, Quezon City on July 7 and 8, 2012 which is for the NCR Selection and the other one is for the Philippine Team Selection on August 4-12, 2012 in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental Football Grounds.

So, for the moms, dads, relatives, schools and organizations if you know your kids or someone you know displays a strong interest in football please do encourage them to participate on the said selection venues.  It will for sure help them a lot and help the country as well.

During the blogger's night in Cafe Lupe, Antipolo speakers shares their talk and insights about football and road safety.

Manager Mr. Alvin Carranza said that supporting the age group will keep the momentum forward.  He also bring forth his vast influence and business networks to make this league exciting and successful.

One of the speaker Mr Ebong Joson of the Philippine Football Federation coach talks about the European Culture and Football Management.  He also disclosed that Panaad is one of the best place for Football Tournament with regards to security, venue and capacity.  He then explained the great difference between height and skills and the culture and language of football.

Coach Cleng Cacacho who coaches for an International School talks about more local exposure and more games in the local level.  He pinpoints that with Europeans they got many clubs and games.  He further explains the difference of a women's team and men's team.  Women's team requires a certain level of training and pampering.

Mr. Atoy Sta. Cruz also made a simple talk about advocating road safety and he explains the issue regarding motorists having an early warning device place or in tact in all vehicles which is needed when having a car problem.

After the talks the much awaited raffle was conducted.  An all expense Tagaytay and Taal trip won by Carlo Camilo Valenzona and Ms. Grace Nicolas' daughter while the all expense Trip to Bacolod won bby Florencio Jusay and Dennison Uy.

Also, it was the conclusion for the Spyder-Charge Your Summer Blogging Contest, as they award to the top three winners of the said contest. Cash prizes and premium items from Spyder and sponsors were given to the winners. The top blogs were featured on the Team Spyder website and the grand prize winner won Php50,000.00 cash prize and an all-expense paid beach vacation for two courtesy of Spyder.
