My kwento today is about this short film that has gone viral and the book that is considered as one of the best-selling books, JOWABLE is now ready to hit the big screen. With the intriguing poster and teasers, this film is one hilarious movie that speaks about being desired or the colloquial term, JOWABLE.

Likable, Lovable, Jowable, But no JOWA! this is the sad fate of Elsa, which is played by Kim Molina, a 30-something No-Boyfriend-Since-Birth girl, who wishes for love life and a boyfriend. She's pretty, sexy and funny. Although her drinking habit gets out of control sometimes, she is not a bad catch at all. So what is wrong with her?!  What does her mother Liberty, portrayed by Kakai Bautista, who changes boyfriend as often as she changes clothes, and her happily in love friend Karissa (Cai Cortez) have that she doesn't Her only wish in life: SANA ALL can easily get a boyfriend. SANA ALL can be happily in love.
Though she's surrounded and supported by friends, Elsa still feels miserable and envious of every couple she sees. Finally, Lady Luck smiles upon her and she meets a guy, and the attraction is instantly mutual. Is this the love she's been waiting for all her life? Will this be the happiness she has been searching for, or will she find her happiness somewhere else?

A little background about this intriguingly funny movie JOWABLE. It started as one of the posts on Vincentiments' Facebook page in 2018, It is a short film written and directed by Darryl Yap. Many people were able to relate to Elsa's sentiments, and the video hit 1 million views overnight, and the Vincentiments page instantly hit 100,000 likes.

Darryl Yap made two more short films for the JOWABLE series before he turned it into a novel. The book was released last March this year and was also an instant hit.

Originally a theater writer and director, Darryl yap only started making short films in 2017. His first short film "Squatterina" was screened at the North Luzon Film Festival, where he became the first to win the Best Director award. "Squatterina" was also chosen as the Philippine delegate for the Formosa Festival of International Filmmaker Awards in Taiwan, and it is now recognized as one of the 10 Best Short Films of National Commission for Culture and the Arts | Cinema Rehiyo for the 1st 10 years. Other award-winning short films by Darryl Yap are Oyayi, Bago ako Lumipad, and Ellipsis.

About JOWABLE's lead star Kim Molina is a theatre actress who made her debut in 2013 as one of the cast for Disney's Tarzan. Then her theater acting career went on some of the roles are Frieda in Carrie the Musical, Louise in a musical adaptation of the movie Ghost, and Aileen in the hit Pinoy Musical Rak of Aegis. Her TV and Film acting career surfaced with her different roles like Savannah in Kadenang Ginto, Billet in The General's Daughter, and been one of the lead stars in Camp Sawi.

Aside from acting, Kim Molina is also a singer, and she won Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist at the 2017 Awit Awards for her debut single "Naluluha Ako" under VIVA Records.

Kim being gifted with a great voice also performed the movie's official soundtrack, with the same title.

After 9 years of gradual reducing, reusing, and recycling it has become irrelevant now, it isn't the solution anymore we need to make a drastic change and raise the banner of saving the planet if we want to save the future of humanity. As most of environmentalists and scientist are now telling we don't have much time, we are now in crisis. The changes in weather patterns, climate changes, and earthquakes are signs that the planet is in chaos.


What happened to the call of Severn Cullis-Suzuki at Rio Summit in 1992? There were agendas created but the execution wasn't enough. Now, Greta Thunberg is sacrificing her Fridays not attending school to protest and force the government to shut down factories and companies degrading the environment. We only have a few more years to go before everything that we so-called living planet will be gone.



We people haven't really learned! The story created by Dr. Seuss, The Lorax, isn't just a story for kids but it transcends every generation and yet we haven't learned from it.

An exciting September for GMA, the Kapuso Network, as they have unveiled their brand new lineup of teleseryes to expect. There are four (4) interesting reasons to get hooked with GMA's new shows. So, what are these reasons? Continue to read my kwento (stories) to know what are these.

1. The Gift - this marks the return of the Kapuso actor and Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards to primetime, which starts its airing on September 16, 2019. The teleserye or TV Series about the story of Sep, a visually-impaired young man who will be blessed withsd the power to see the past and the future. An interesting and challenging role for the Kapuso actor.


The line up of stars are Alden Richards, Jo Berry, Mikee Quintos, Martin Del Rosario, Isabel Ortega, Jean Garcia, Rochelle Pangilinan, Elizabeth Oropesa, Mikoy Morales, Christian Vasquez, Luz Valdez, and Betong Sumaya.

2. Beautifull Justice - an action series with girl power. Justice never looked this beautiful as Beautiful Justice has already started last September 9. This is a story of three women with different personalities that will band together to unravel the secrets behind the death of their loved ones. Lead stars are Yasmien Kurdi, Bea Binene, and Gabbi Garcia.


Other cast, Derrick Monasterio, Valeen Montenegro, Lilet, Gil Cuerva, Bing Loyzaga, Victor Neri, and Therese Malvar.

3. One of the Baes - the interesting and lovable couple, Ken Chan and Rita Daniela once agan team up for this new primetime show. This is their first-ever primetime show together, One of the Baes, which will premiere on September 30. The story will follow the ups and downs of Filipino seafarers.

Other cast of this TVSeries are Joyce Ching, Maureen Larrazabal, Tonton Gutierrez, Edgar Allan Guzman, Buboy Villar, Jestoni Alarcon, Roderick Paulate, Melanie Marquez, Archie Alemania, and Kenneth Medrano.

4. 2nd Season of The Clash - yes, it's another season of original musical competition that will air on September 21 with the new Clash Masters, Asia's Pop Diva, Julie Anne San Jose and Total Heartthrob, Rayver Cruz. The set of Judges are Asia's Nightingale, Lanie Misalucha; Asia's Romantic Balladeer, Christian Bautista; and Comedy Concert Queen, Ai Ai deas Alas. The Clash participants will be entertained by The Clash Journey Hosts, Ken Chan and Rita Daniela.


These are the new shows to expect on the Kapuso Network and there will be more to expect. These are all shared and celebrated in the GMA All-New September Primetime event were stars of the shows are present. As of the moment I'm out of the corporate world and I'm doing my freelance thing but looking back when I was still in the industry, it was really hard squeezing in some personal errands during lunchtime. This is my kwento about this particular movie that is part of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, the LSS or Last song Syndrome Movie. The movie is starred by real-life couple Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos with today's most sought band, Ben&Ben.

The LSS or Last Song Syndrome is a film about Sara (played by Gabbi) and Zak (played by Khalil), who are an aspiring musician and a software engineer, respectively. And just like any other individual, their comfort is music in which they follow the upcoming indie-folk band called Ben & Ben.

The band, Ben&Ben in this movie played the role of themselves in the time that they are still starting their band.

Here are some interesting facts to know and expect about this movie, LSS.

1.  According to Executive Producer, Emman Dela Cruz Gabbi and Khalil were cast separately. So the whole team doesn't have any idea that they were a real couple. 

2. The first song choice May Be Tonight was used in one of the movies before that they lose hope of having a theme song for the LSS movie that is composed and sung by Ben&Ben. Fortunately, the band has one new song that is needed to be finished and according to Ben&Ben, it was the script of the film that made them to finally finish the song. 

3. The couple, Khalil and Gabbi had an agreement that they won't work together in one project but when the script and story were presented to them both of them agreed to finally work together as a couple and besides Ben&Ben is one of their favorite band.

“LSS  or Last Song Syndrome is directed by Jade Castro under Globe Studios, Dokimos Media Studios Inc. and Ben&Ben.

The film will be one of the films that will be showing on September 13 to 19, 2019 as part of the PPP celebration.

A little background about Gabbi Garcia, she's from the Kapuso Network who starred in some of the teleseryes like “Pamilya Roces”, “Sherlock Jr.”, and “Encantadia.” Also, she was part of the film, “Meant to Beh” in 2017.

For Khalil, he is one of the actors under the Kapamilya Network who was part of many TV series such as “Bagani”, “La Luna Sangre”, and “A Love to Last.” Also, he was part of different movies like "Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 2: Forever is not Enough", "The Achy Breaky Hearts", and "Honor They Father."

Today's main attraction of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan is it's Tanglawan Festival that is becoming one of the anticipated events in the city every year after winning over from Singapore the World Guinness Record for the biggest Lantern Parade. To elevate more of the festival, the city government tapped different art organizations to come up with a visual representation and interpretation of SJDM's Tanglawan Festival. And the result was inspiring. Of course, all are through the leadership of Mayor Arthur Robes and the love of Congresswoman Florida Robes for the people of San Josenos.

Last September 10, the actual date of SJDM's cityhood, is the culmination of the 10-day celebration. As part of its activities, the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Tanglawan Festival 2019 Art Gallery Exhibit started. The said artworks were mounted at the Basement 2, the Government Service Express area inside SM City San Jose Del Monte. The opening ceremony was graced by Mayor Arthur Robes and Congresswoman Florida Robes. The couple gave their appreciation of the artworks and praises to different artists who participated. Mayor Robes, who loves art, disclosed during the event that they are pushing for the construction of the Culture and Art Building that will cultivate the different talented children of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.

The strive to change the city's image has become more visual and firm. The works of the power couple, Mayor Arthur and Congresswoman Florida is becoming the strong foundation of their aim of changing the people's view about, from relocation to destination.

I'm always happy to know that a lot of good singers and artist are now being introduced in the music industry. A good kwento or stories to share with my readers and followers, especially the ones who love music very much. So, what do I have share now? Well, as my title says it, it is a day of The Clash Alumni, two of them - Garrett Bolden and Mirriam Manalo - releases their latest singles.

GMA Music proudly presents these two artists with their new singles. For Garrett, he is delighted to share his second single " Handa na Maghintay", this is after his debut single "Lilipad Na". The song is composed by Rodel Buban, Jam Ruiz, Vehnee Saturno, together with Filscap Camp Isang Lahi. While for Mirriam Manalo, this is her debut single under the same label, which entitled as "Una Ka". It is written by Romer Timbreza and music by Elmer Blancaflor.


Both of the singers are very much happy with their singles, for Garrett, he hopes that the audience will relate much with the lyrics, "I'm so excited to share this new journey sa inyo mga Kapuso, Sana maka-related kayo dahil tagos sa puso ang kantang ito. Para ito sa mga selfless magmahal sa kahit na anong sitwasyon."


Meanwhile, Mirriam, the Fierce Diva, dedicated the song to her daughter Layla, who also has a special appearance in its official music video, which is directed by Philip Lazaro. "My daughter is my number one priority, sa lahat ng ginagawa ko, nauuna ko siyang isipin talaga, which is why this song really reflects my love for her."

"Handa na Maghintay" and "Una Ka" are both now available for streaming on Apple Music, Spotify and other digital stores worldwide.

Five years after their last meeting, worlds collide yet again as two of the most popular basketball teams in Asia face each other once more. The LG Sakers, one of the stalwarts of the Korean Basketball League (KBL), is set to face what is arguably the country’s most beloved PBA team – the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

Dubbed as Asian Basketball Showdown, the first exhibition game between the two teams happened 5 years ago and was received very well by the appreciative crowd. It was a landmark event that pitted perennial crowd favorites in their respective leagues. The LG Sakers is one of the most well-supported teams in the whole of South Korea while Barangay Ginebra is a pillar in Philippine sporting history. To have these two teams face against each other is a dream come true for every fan of basketball.

Hodai means "Unlimited or Unli" and by that Hodai Restaurant offers its visitors nine (9) different fusion dishes to go crazy about and fill that hungry tummy. It's a new restaurant located in one of the residential but busy section of West Triangle. To be exact the restaurant is in Examiner Street, West Triangle, Quezon City. Just a few walks away from West Avenue.


If you're familiar with the place you'll eventually know that the place is one of the many residential residences in Quezon City that have big cuts of lands. More space than the current house and lots in the metro.  Hodai Restaurant rented the place from the owner and gladly they were able to maintain the house's original identity. Some of the prominent features of the house that you'll eventually notice that it is an old house is the elevated received area or sala, the half-level of elevation from the kitchen or CR, and the most interesting part is the stars which are considered to an antique stair already. These kinds of houses are built int he late 50s or early 60s.

What made me visit this place? Well, they have this interesting 100 Days Anniversary Promo with 40% off. Their Silver and Gold Sets are off with that 40%, from Php499 to Php299 and from Php599 to Php359, respectively. Value for money and satisfaction for the tummy.

So, if you'll be planning to visit Hodai here are my recommended 9 Unli Fusion Dishes review for you. I just so happen had a great time dining at Hodai. Take note that their dishes are fusion so don't expect something of your usual flavor.

Pork Tonkatsu - if you're familiar with the Japanese dish Pork Tonkatsu it means pork cutlet that is smeared with bread crumbs, deep-fried and served with Japanese Worcestershire sauce, rice, and vegetable that is mainly cabbage. The Hodai version is the same, though, it is a bit thinner slices, perhaps to make it more easily chop and munched.  
Chicken Karaage - the Karaage is simply described as "fry". So whatever it is, whether chicken, pork or anything it is just one thing... it is fried. So, with the served Hodai version, I find it interesting as it is chopped just right for munching. I think other than having it as a dish, it is also good to pair with beer or sake.


Seafood Pasta - This one is a little bit confusing for me. At first, I thought it was ramen but it was not and I find it a little bit interesting because of the mussels on top fo the pasta (which I thought ramen noodles). But then again after tasting the flavor I really savor the flavor. It's much much creamier that I think I might go back and try a bowl if I can finish it in just one sitting.

Kani Salad - One of the appetizers that are really good and one of my favorites. Mostly cabbage mixed with crab meat strips some flavorful sauce (which I don't have any idea about the mixture of the sauce).


Assorted Sushi - Of course Japanese dish wouldn't be complete without the sushi and maki rolls being taken by the other customers. Sometimes it's really hard to maintain establishments like this.

Spicy Barbeque in Chile Sauce - This specific dish is not surprising enough for others, I'm not sure how it is called or is it Filipino or Japanese.

Tempura - yes, that crunchy coating that covers the sweet and tasty meat of shrimps. I really love it very much and if only I was still young that unlimited serving of Tempura would be great.

Steamed Tofu - if you're into being a healthy buff, well, some of the dishes offered by Hodai isn't for you but there are two that you enjoy and one of them is the steamed tofu. It may be bland at first but once you taste the flavor you'll definitely enjoy it very much.

Fish Teriyaki - the Teriyaki according to google dictionary means any fish or meat marinated in soy sauce and grilled. Basically, it is a grilled dish and for this instance, it is a fish, which I really enjoyed the flavor. I'm not really sure if it is a Fish Teriyaki but it's more likely of a Karaage but anyway since it is a fusion restaurant anything can be possible.
